Black Tie Creatives partnered with Iowa ACOG to develop Bump for the Bump, a campaign to address Iowa’s OB-GYN shortage and drive legislative action. The campaign centered on a clear, unifying message: support a “bump” in Medicaid reimbursements and maternal care funding to help retain OB-GYNs in the state. The campaign featured bold, typographic visuals paired with real stories and data, empowering Iowans to call their state legislators. We developed multiple creative directions, ultimately launching a high-impact social media push timed with the end of the 2025 legislative session. Additional print collateral was recommended for clinics, hospitals, and staff break rooms to expand reach beyond digital. The campaign helped elevate Iowa ACOG’s visibility and mobilize public support for practical, bipartisan healthcare improvements. We’re proud to share that Iowa ACOG’s Bump for the Bump campaign has received national recognition with the ACOG Council of District Chairs Service Recognition Award. This award honors innovative advocacy, leadership, and public outreach efforts that strengthen women’s healthcare and elevate the profession. Launched in response to Iowa’s growing maternity care crisis, Bump for the Bump helped mobilize Iowans around the urgent need for more OB/GYNs and better support for maternal healthcare across our state. Through grassroots advocacy, social media outreach, physician voices, media engagement, and community action, the campaign: • Grew our audience to more than 2,500 followers • Encouraged bipartisan constituent outreach to legislators • Elevated awareness of Iowa’s OB/GYN shortage • Strengthened physician and member engagement across Iowa
